Below is a rough transcript of the show. ENJOY IT!
well that was fun. That song was called OomBopo from a band I used to be in caled Damn the Cow. You will learn more about said band in the future of y2cl when 3 of the guys in y2cl decide to form a band and record some songs.
Welcome to y2cl Radio Episode number zero.
This past week I have taken a small sabbatical from the zombies to poke a little fun at Stephanie Myer and her Twilight books. My wife, bless her heart, has fallen in love with this series. I can not count the number of times she has listened to the audio books, in fact she is upstairs going to sleep right now listening to the first book…again.
It’s not that they books are BAD or POORLY written, it’s just it’s a shitty vampire story. It’s a love story that tries to mold it self to the supernatural and fails.
Enough about twilight, read the Inanimate riffs on it to see more of my opinion.
On Monday I am getting back to the zombies and we will see a whole lot more of Zombie Elvis, ZJ and Joel as they leave Las Vegas. What started as a one spot cameo for Zombie Elvis has turned into a 10-15 page sub story that will eventually involve the king of pop. That’s how things work around here, and why I can never seem to move on from the zombies. I write a SINGLE COMIC and when I work on it, it turns into several comics.
Case in point is the Elvis stuff I just pointed out.
Somewhere in the mix of the Leaving Las Vegas mini arc I will be finishing the NJ and Wilt story line. When we last saw them they NJ had just realized she was pregos with Wilts baby. I have the ending all penciled out, just need to finalize it.
I’m sure you long time readers are wondering ‘what the HELL is going on with the original cast?’ I know, I know they haven’t appeared in over 50 comics! But fret not! They will return! So will Chris Hansen, and MoFo Nelly. There is a GREAT story arc Jon Anderson is working on that is CRUCIAL to the overall story of z2c that I am impatiently waiting for him to finish. So if you miss the OG cast, email him and tell him to get off his ass and do the job I don’t pay him for.
Speaking of not paying people, I am putting together the Zombie 2 Christ Volume One collection! Which will collect the first 100 comics plus a special prologue to the series. There will be some behind the scenes sketches and notes from my self and Mr. Anderson.
What I am thinking it opening up the cover duties to you. I feel the need to let the cover be done by someone that is not me. If you would like to do the cover to the next y2cl book, e-mail me at jhorsley3@gmail.com and we can talk more about it.
And now, I would like to introduce to you the band of show. I failed to mention this in the opening but each episode I plan to spotlight a band that I like and play you a song or two from them.
This episode I put Map of June in my cross hairs. This band is a local band from where I live and their drummer Charlie, who is also the drummer in Kane Hodder, is an old class mate of mine. Take a listen. This song is called ‘Prolong the Agony’

Man I love this song. You can check them out at myspace.com/justfortheoccasion.
Let’s answer some reader questions about y2cl and myself. Generally this is where my wife would come in and ask the questions and I would answer, but she’s sleeping. She does promise to be here for the next show though.
First question comes from reader Mike in boulder Colorado. mike writes
“Hey J! I’ve been reading y2cl for a few months now and I really enjoy it! I like the veriety! I want to know how the hell you come up with your ideas?”Good question Mike! My ideas come from this crazy little thing I call my imagination. to be completely honest I can’t pin point where my creativity comes from, just that it’s unique. Hopefully that answers your question a little!
Our next questions is from Asthon in well, it doesn’t really say.
Ashton writes:
“Hi, My name is ashton. I found your email on that dating site.
I also love sex on the side. I have a loving partner but he is working 16 hours a day and we have sex only once a week
If you are interested and wanna see my pictures just email me at cashton23@foundingdate.com
Don`t reply, use the email above (my boyfriend doesn`t know about that email!)”Well Ashton, I am a happily married man and I am not ON any dating sites (that I’m aware of). please stop e-mailing me with different names, I will never have sex with you or give you money.
Hopefully that clears THAT up.
If you where thinking the first questions was made up and the second was a spam e-mail then you are correct. Here are some REAL questions submitted by readers.
Q. what software do you use to make y2cl?
A. I use a combination of Illustrator and PhotoShop. every comic ends with the photshop treatment to finalize it and letter it.Q. what is your process to produce a strip?
A. my process revolves around my sense of humor. I carry a memo pad in my back pocket that I use to write down ideas/jokes and what nots into for later use in y2cl. once I have scripted out a comic I pencil it (if needed) or set up the photo or whatever I intend to use for that comic. Once penciling deeds are complete I scan it, bring it into illustrator where I ‘ink’ it and ‘color’ it. From there it gets imported into Photoshop for ballons, letters and final effects.q. Is your wife as hot as you say and does she really talk other women’s boobs with you?
A. yes she is and yes she does. Tune in next episode where we talk boobs on the show.Q. where did you come up with the title for your webcomic?
A. the name comes from my buddy Dylans old AIM screen name. I dropped in last year and shortened it to just y2cl.Q. Why three Jesuses? Let alone their strange natures…..
A. I’ve said it once in the comic but I’ll say it here as well. Gods sperm was to powerful to only bear one child. Gangasta and NJ balance out the trifecta that is Jesus.Q. Your early work seems somewhat homoerotic. Were you targeting a specific audience or do you just like penises?
A. every man is gay, if only for a little while. Just ask your dad.Q. Your inanimate sequence of comic fillers. Where did that idea come from? Do you have plans on making it into its own comic?
A. funny you should ask that. Inanimate started as it’s own web-comic that I launched in January of this year. After letting it run for a month I pulled it down because it was taking to much time away from y2cl. I moved it into a y2cl presents where it is happy.
And that ends our q&a for this episode. I think we will take a break here to hear one more Map of June song. This one is called ‘do it or don’t’.
(song plays)
Thank you for listening to y2cl radio episode zero. Next episode tune in as my wife will be here to help out and our spot light band will be Damn The Cow.
